Sarah's Card Retreat - Part 2 - Classes

So here are the classes that I did at the Retreat, we had 6 classes to do over the weekend as well as some make and takes, challenges, raffles and bingo - which I will put on the next post..

For each of the original designs the class assistant did their version, which was good to see how they added different photos, changed the sizes of the original layout etc. So in theory we had 2 sample layouts to give us an idea on what the pages could look like in the end.

Divine Distressing by Rachael Elliott - Vintage class ... I just love her work, and she is such a nice person it was great to meet up with here again and even better to have her teach me a class.

The photo is of me and & Mum when i was about 2 years. So as well as all the distress and riping and tearing in the class, we were shown how to make a flower with lace.

Strung Together - by Vanessa Stokoe ... paper range - Cosmo Cricket

The orginial layout was 8.5 x 11, but her assistant had done the same layout but as a 12 x 12 just to show us that the layout can work either way, so I opted to do the 12 x 12 version.

Hidden Depth by Louise Stevenson - paper range - October Afternoon.

This class included gutting the cardstock and backing paper then replacing it with acetate.

What a hoot - by Natalie Grant - paper range - My Mind's Eye

The technique included make a felt owl, this is Julie's version of the owl.

Also I didn't fancy putting stitched swirls on the page so I just added a stitched heart.

Layered Lace by Lianne Mawer ... paper range American Craft - Dear Lizzie range

Showing us how to use a sheet of lace cardstock and backing it with patterned papers and cutting it to still nearly all of the sheet, but in smaller sections.

Vintage Vogue by Claire Wheatley - paper range - Webster's Pages

Tchniques involved misting and loads and loads of cutting out, not my favourite part of crafting but I love the end results.

Each class kit had more than enough to complete the class as well as make another layout and even an additional card, which is great value.

Thanks for stopping by ...

Gorgeous layouts and I love how you have adapted each one and made it your own - the stitched heart over the photo on Natalie's layout is a sweet touch.
